I am so sorry you aren't getting any rest and that your brother is not doing well.  Is your brother seeing any therapist?  Could he have PTSD from the robbery he experienced.  I am sorry about your mother leaving.  This must be hard for all of you. Your dad should probably seek professional help for your brother.  Good luck to you and your family.

Oh, I feel for the little guy,  Mom is now gone.  Been in scary situations.  You don't get over that right away.
Does he have a night light?  Maybe music or what is called white noise like the sounds of waves or rain drops.  Anything so that the house is not so quiet? It also might be a good idea if dad talks to his school teacher to let the teacher know that your bro is going through a rough time and needs extra support.  It can make a difference.  And, of course, any thing that you and your dad can do to make him feel better will help.
Your dad might also look into buying, "Don't Despair on Thursdays!: The Children's Grief-Management Book (The Emotional Impact Series).  Its written for kids 9 and up.  It can be found here - http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Despair-Thursdays-Childrens-Grief-Management/dp/0933849605/ref=pd_sim_14_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=51ZMVZ4QNNL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR110%2C160_&refRID=0H8G3NDM7RZM65TG0131
Hope this helps.  Thanks for being a good big brother.
