walks on tip toes

My grandchild is now 61/2 and when she is barefoot she always walks around on her tip toes, out side of a short attention span and not seaming to being able to entertain herself, she is doing well in school (Kindergarten)  learning to read and remember sight words and such, she has no trouble with behavior at school, but is very whiney at home(divorced parents).  Should we be worried, is there are cause we should look into?

She could have short achilles tendons.  Flex her feet and see what kind of mobility she has.

I agree, I used to be able to walk on rocks as a child, and I still love going barefoot but lots of people don't like it at all.  No reason to be worried if she only does it outside when barefoot.

If she does not have school problems, and she does not toe walk all the time-- then no. She is probably walking on tip toe when barefoot because she has sesitive feet.
