why cant my 6months old sleep properly?

hey,

i just wana ask that i have a 6months old baby boy and he really has disturbing sleeps..he sleeps just for 40-60mins max.and at night he wakes up every now and then with 15-30mins interval..is it an alarming situation??should i needto be worried and even i m disturbed all night or day long??plz some one help
