hi my daughter is 6yrs old and has been under the care of a dietician recently following surgery earlier this yr for grommits. while in hospital dr's became concerned because she is very small for her age. taking all mother father etc details into account they came to the conclusion that she is underweight.she was originally put on food supplement drinks called fortina, but refused to drink them and when i did get her to try a little she proceeded to make herself sick. so she was put on a high calorie diet instead (extra spreads on bread/crackers., full fat cream and also a semi skimmed dry milk substitute(to help with calcium, protien levels) added in all her milk , increased snacks throught day etc.). she has been on this now since june and i have not seen any improvement in her weight at all. she has got taller alright so went from 110-115cm in that time, which for her is a lot! is it a case that she is just growing and cant put on weight as well as get taller at same time??? she is an extremly energetic little girl and always on the go, but has always had a battle when it came to food. she has always been a picky eater and rarely says she is hungry. please help as i feel my daughter will always be underweight ??? thanks
