Hives everyday

Hey,
After having my first child I began to break out in hives every single night.
I had this condition for 2 years and it only went away when I was pregnant with my 2nd child about 4 months into pregnancy. The then returned without a month left in my pregnancy. (When I was also diagnosed with cholestasis)

I have seen an allergy doctor. Found no allergies but claimed it would go away after time. It never did.

I have seen a derm who prescribed me a few different creams. They were pretty useless.

When I get hives they actually appear allover my body in what appear to look like scratch marks. Back, stomach, chest, arms, legs, butt literally everywhere. It has become quite maddening and the only thing that seems to make the symptoms go down a bit is benadryl.

If anyone has any info that could help me go in the right direction, I would really appreciate it as I am really at the end of my rope with this suffering.

I’m at 2 years of chronic idiopathic hives, as well. Anti-histamines haven’t worked to rid me of hives. Doctors keep giving me Prednisone as that works like a charm to eradicate the hives but they always come back. I noticed that it’s usually running on a four week schedule which led me to look into possible hormonal issues. I found a study that found women who were deficient in Vitamin D were likely to get hives. I bought Dr. Cannell's Advanced D - Vitamin D Super Formula - 60 Vegetarian Capsules - Purity Products and take 2 capsules a day.  I also read that hives could be caused by PH imbalance.  Baking soda to the rescue! Fix a bath in a temp that is comfortable for you (too hot and it will really aggravate your hives) and pour half a box of baking soda in it and soak for 20-30 minutes. The relief from the itching is amazing! Read this for all the ways baking soda can help. http://www.dermanities.com/use-baking-soda-hives. I also made a paste like you would do for bee stings and that brought relief. I put a teaspoon of baking soda in water and drink it, too. Following that protocol, I had a blessed absence of hives from May to December this year. From some reason I had a bad breakout this month and had to resort to 2 courses of prednisone. I know I am doing long term damage with this but what is the alternative? My hives now come with a lovely case of swollen eyelids and big bags under the eye. Keep researching online to find what works for you. If we can’t eradicate them, we can at least try to keep from clawing our skin off.  I wish you good luck and good health.
