Canine Kidney Health by Five Leaf Pet Pharmacy, Inc.

Has anybody heard of or had any experience with a business/website called Canine Kidney Health by Five Leaf Pet Pharmacy, Inc.?  http://caninekidneyhealth.com/

I called a California company (http://www.greentripe.com/) to find out how/where to buy their all-natural frozen green tripe for my dog with CKD. The woman who answered referred me to a distributor. She also said some of their customers have recommended a site called Canine Kidney Health by Five Leaf Pet Pharmacy.

The testimonials on the Canine Kidney Health Five Leaf Pet Pharmacy website are stupendous (http://caninekidneyhealth.com/). Has anybody had any experience with them?

Just so you know, I'm trying to prepare an article that covers many of the supplements listed on this forum - as well as all-natural supplements to diets I have discovered during the last 3 years or so. It may take a short time to get this together and I will post again once it is complete. Tony

Fantastic, Lynne. What's really special is how well Darbie is doing. That gives me hope for Mandy.

You said Darbie gets (1) 30mg capsule with each meal. What is Darbie's weight?

Mandy weighs 12 pounds, so I wonder what her dosage should be.

Also, Mandy has no appetite, so it's hit or miss with meals. Therefore, is it okay to give CoQ10 liquid drops if a full meal is not being fed?

Thanks for your input!

Kay

Thank you all for your responses. That's great information about CoQ10 liquid drops. I had never heard of that before. A few days ago I received Azodil and have started Mandy on that.

Can anyone please tell me the recommended dosage of CoQ10 liquid drops for a 12-pound dog?

Thanks again!

When Oliver went into severe kidney failure back in April and was hospitalized for three days. I took it upon myself to research. I actually did see this website. I agree with Tony and know that once the kidneys are damaged you cannot repair them.  I pulled up many websites but to be honest I have learned more with Tony and the rest of the people who have given me their honest opinions based on their experiences.  I rather learn from people and the experiences they have gone through or going through with their pet.

Hi. Thanks Lynne. I should have mentioned about CoQ10 for dogs. I would also add that Azodil has a proven track record too and there are those in the User Group that swear by it. Tony

I agree with Tony...proceed with caution.

Tony helped research the health benefits of CoQ10 for dogs. It's a proven dietary supplement for humans, so I put my faith in that . Darbie gets (1) 30mg capsule with each meal.

Darbie has been doing so well overall and I couldn't be happier.  If you think you would like to check this out, you may want to invest in CoQ10 liquid drops. Your sweet little pup wouldn't need as much due to her size.

Best of Luck, Kate!

Fondly,

Lynne & Darbie

Hi. I've had a very brief look at the website and, in general, their comments and general information is fairly similar what I or many others might say. I can't see anything special about their nutritional program - perhaps they have just managed to put everything into one program, which is I guess helpful to some people. No doubt at considerable cost. However, they do make some claims, which frankly are very misleading - or are downright false - such as:

"The Liver and Kidney herbs that are part of the Canine Heart Health Program were helping restore health to these diseased organs as well."

This is impossible. Once the kidneys are damaged, they cannot be "restored". Scientific fact. The liver can often restore itself, once the toxic element is removed from the system - which is why an alcoholic's liver can often improve once he or she stops drinking, but even this can be impossible once damage has reached a point of no return.

I'm not saying this company is a rogue company - but they are suggesting things about their product that I do not believe is possible, regardless of the anecdotal evidence given through testimonials. It strikes me their "product" is a mixture of truths and half-truths, so I would certainly be cautious.
