I assume that since you have posted your question on the COPD Forum, that you have COPD. Proventil is a short-acting, so-called rescue drug, not one that should be used on a regular basis. It can be used occasionally, for transient worsening of COPD with Advair, and more regularly with Spiriva. If you find that you have a need for Proventil more than once a day, you should report that to your doctor who may then opt to increase your long acting medication.
