Paralyzed diaphragm & shingles vaccine

My husband has been diagnosed with a paralyzed diaphragm.  No trauma but he did have the shingles vaccine approximately 2 weeks before experiencing shortness of breath and then diagnosed with paralyzed diaphragm.  Somewhere in my research I notice an article stating that shingles could affect the phrenic nerve. I was just wondering if there is a possibility that the virus in the vaccine could have somehow affected my husbands phrenic nerve and the subsequent paralyzed diaphragm.  Thank you for any help you can give me.

My father recently had the shingle shot vaccine and is now showing signs of bells palsy, I would like to add he has a severe allergy to dyes and I noticed looking at other web sites that he should not have had this shot due to this allergy. Please any information would be helpful.

I don't know anything about a paralyzed diaghram.  I have had chicken pox as a child, got shingles (paralyzing shingles - could not walk) some years ago.  I am having flair ups now and feel like I am going to get shingles again.  Two years ago the shot came out, and although I was eligible through my RX plan to get the shot FREE, I ran away from it due to it not having had enough studies about it.  I wanted to know, and they could not tell me, if it was good for someone who already had shingles.  I feel helpless as to what to do.  I had a prescription from an MD for a shot which I gave to Walgreens.  I was afraid to take the shot and left the script at the pharmacy.  It expired in 2009.  I am now planning to take the shot.  I can only hope and pray I do not get full blown shingles again.  I would rather have another hysterectomy than have shingles again.
