Are you under the care of a hepatologist associated with a liver transplant center?
What has your hepatologist advised?
Can you stop the cause of your liver disease? For example if you have hepatitis c have you been treated to cure your hep c? If you are drinking alcohol have you stopped completely? Stoping the cause of liver injury can stop progression of liver disease and you may even begin to improve over time.
Do you know your MELD score? Do you have Ascities? Have you had an upper endoscopy to check for esophageal varicies? Do you have esophageal varicies? Have you had an esophageal varicial bleeding episode?
It very much depends if you can prevent further damage and how many symptoms you have developed.
Also are you willing to undergo a liver transplant if needed and if you are eligible? Has your hepatologist evaluated you for liver transplant and are you on the list? Normally you need a MELD score above 15 to be listed with most transplants occurring at a MELD score about 30 due to the availability of organs.
