Effect of getting a smaller dose of the flu vaccination ?

  When the Dr. gave me my flu shot a lot of the dose flowed down my arm. My suspicion is that the Dr. didn't leave the needle in long enough and pulled it out too soon . I don't know how much vaccine went inside me and how much was lost that flowed down my arm. Am I still protected even if I didn't receive the entire dose because I don't know how much was lost ? Should I get the vaccination one more time somewhere else ? This Dr. was in such a hurry that I might not be protected from the flu now ?

I just had a flu shot this week and I tell you, one plunge and done.  It doesn't take long to get the shot.  Literally a second.  I would guess you got the full dose. That's typically regulated and it would have to be a very unethical doctor to not give you the full dose. The speed of how long the shot took doesn't factor though because it IS super fast to get it.

It's really hard to say exactly what happened, and whether you received enough to be effective.   It won't hurt to get an additional vaccine - just wait a couple of weeks after the first administration before you do.
