Remedies to help clear mucus in throat

I had a cold last week, and feel better this week, but still have a lot of mucus in the back of my throat. Can anyone recommend a remedy to help clear it out?

To help shift the mucus, drink plenty of warm drinks avoiding milk products because this encourages the formation of mucus.

Also do steam inhalations.  Take care not to get scalded.  Get a bowl and pour in boiling water from the kettle, add a little bit of Vick or olbas oil.  Bend your head over the bowl and cover your had and bowl with a towel.
Breathe in through your nose and exhale through the mouth.
Do this for 10 minutes.

If you can, do this 4 times a day with a duration of 10 minutes each time.

You can buy tablets that will dry up the mucus, but these are not suitable for people who suffer from high blood pressure.

A nasal spray can also be used short term to unblock the passages.
