unlcertive colitis

My Dad has colitis and I have now developed some symptoms of colitis. I had a colonoscopy and my doctor said he thought he saw some colitis. Well the nurse called back today to say my biopsies were normal. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. My question is could I have mild unlcertive colitis but have it not show up in my biopsies?

Yes, when it is "mild" but beware of when you have a "flare up" and follow up with
your doctor on how to handle it. Some flare ups can last for days. Good luck!

There are various types of colitis, such as infectious, inflammatory, ischemic, just to name a few. You should follow-up with gastroenterologist regarding further workup and management.
