Anti-inflammatory alternative okay or same effect?

Is it okay to take Curcurmin/Turmeric instead, when told not to take any anti-inflammatory before ACDF surgery and until fusion is complete?   To prevent surgical bleeding and help fusion.

The argument against anti-inflammatories is that inflammation is part of the healing process. I suggest you get a second opinion regarding the surgery. Decades ago I was in level ten pain from a cervical injury (I had to use a walker and couldn't hold a pen) and was scared out of my mind when I was told by a "top doctor" I would be paralyzed if I did not have the procedure. I refused and went to a pain specialist, and following a program he devised, the pain diminished and disappeared. I still have to use occasional axial traction.

You'd have to ask your docs -- turmeric is an anti-inflammatory.  Only your docs know they why of this.
