I just hurt my ear really bad doing this for the first time. Contrary to all the warnings I went ahead with it, knowing it doesn't remove wax, but people swear it gives the relief. I posted a question hoping for a solution. Before my candle burned to the 3 inch mark it dripped hot wax into my ear. Now sitting here in pain, my hearing is muffled, candle wax came out today, and I'm pretty sure there is more in there. Crackling, popping, and an incredible earache. Any solutions to ear candling gone wrong?:(

First, candling doesn't remove ear wax, it supposedly melts it so it can drip out on its own.  But all double blind studies show that the only wax dripping out is the wax of the ear candle, not ear wax.  On the other hand, as I said, it's used by a lot of people, and has been for centuries, so if it makes you feel good, that's okay by me.  Certainly didn't do anything for me when I tried it.

First of all, the Hopi have no role in inventing ear candling, it's from India.  All evidence is that ear candles do nothing whatsoever except put melted candle in your ear, but people have been doing it for centuries and so if it makes you feel better, go for it.  But again, it has failed all double blind studies.
