veg juice diet making sick

hi all, i started a vegetable juice diet about four days ago.  I started  vomiting a couple of days ago, and I feel really bad.  Has anyone experienced this? I am also on barley juice, spirolina, noni, goji, chlorella.  breast milk. I am also having dandelion and burdock tea.  does it get worse  before things get better?

Please do not give up your juices . They will keep you nourished well while you are on chemo!!!! and after chemo. Your body needs good food and juices to strengthen your immune system to fight your disease. No pharmaceutical drugs will replenish your nurishments like plant food will. The key to success is your healthy immune system .
Take care,Sunes.

If I were this sick, I would give up the juices and the detox for a while...maybe forever.

I hope you start to feel better and get your energy levels up now that you are eating again. At this stage, it is probably better to be eating and nourishing your body, getting it as strong as you possible can.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and you get all the answers you are looking for.

Best of luck....Janet  :-)

Please let Flightsocks know I am thinking about her and praying for her to get better.

After all the juice was not making her sick . Oh this dreadful disease....

She must find a doctor who will help her decide what she needs to do. If she is not taking chemo anymore ...than what she decided to do? Only vegetable juices? She must follow some protocol not just drink whatever....people tell her to drink.

There must be a good ND where she lives to help her. Sunes.

It might not been the time for you to overdo ANY alternative treatment.  Eating and drinking TOO much of anything is not good.  You have probably torn up your stomach with the veg diet.  Too much of a good thing, can be bad too.

I hope you get to feeling better and very soon.  Listen to your doctors, not to strangers on the internet.

thanks. flightsocks has had to go to her bed.  she is in real pain and keeps vomiting.  You must understand that she has always eaten very well and this veg diet is nothing new for her.  the tumours are just causing her this pain, and i am hoping that this diet is doing something to make them go down or better still go completely.  She is very weak with pain. flightsocks friend

I do agree with Janet. It's important to detox but if you were on a heavy diet before like lots of processed foods, meat and dairy ... it will be harder for your body to expell the toxins...and it may take a longer time to do this detox. Sometimes  gets worse before gets better.

Hi there,

There could be several reasons why you are feeling so ill. I see on your "tags" that you are connected to the OvCa forum. If you are on chemo and this is your first detox then that would be one reason. The combination of chemo and doing a "fasting detox" with no prior preperation to ease your body into the detox would most certainly make you feel ill.

Milk of any sort is not recommended when one is detoxing. The combination of a milk substance when fasting/detoxing can have adverse effects. ie nauseaus and vomiting may occur.

Depending on the type of eating regime you were on prior to starting the vegie juice diet (which is essentially a detoxing of the body) can make a lot of difference to how you are feeling once commencing the detox. If you ate a lot of meat, processed foods etc and did not prepare your body for the detox you will experience some rather nasty effects. Tiredness, Dizzyness, Double Vision, just to mention a few along with the vomiting you are already experiencing.

If you are taking medication of any kind, then that combined with some of the things above will also contribute to your feeling ill. And of course if you smoke during a fast you will actually be harming your body much more than you realise.

Detoxing can be very benificial to the body, but it is very important to prepare the body for it so as not to go into toxic shock. I hope this has been of some help to you and I hope you feel better soon....Regards Janet
