If there is no bulging of buccal and lingual side of this impacted tooth, and the area is asymptomatic, You may choose to leave it alone.occasionally, dentigerous cyst may develope around the impacted tooth.if there is evidence of cystic lesion, surgical intervention is indicated. Nerve injury is certainly a potential risk of this operation.
can you see the xray pic that was in the link? after seeing that, can you see the indication of cystic lesion? because the dentist that said i needed a surgery, also said that the dark spot that developed around my irregular teeth is either a lesion or pocket of air that's not supposed to be there. he also said that if i leave it alone, eventually it will disturb my jaw or even damage it. is that true?
The picture from computer screen is not as good as the real panoramic x-ray.The radilucency around the crown is minimal. If you desire to wait for another 6 months, take another x-ray. You will be able to tell whether the lesion is incresasing or not. You may address my opinion to your surgeon and have a detailed discussion.
thank you very much for the prompt address and your opinion.
