Complications

My 88 year old father has struggled with heart disease since his early 60's but he I was always very health conscious.  He eats very healthy and up until recently exercised regularly.  He has staved off a heart attack but did have a septuple by pass and a kidney stent in 2009.  In October he had his third compression fracture in his back.  He has multiple fractures but this is the third one that is fixable.  He knew the symptoms and we had an appointment scheduled.  In the days proceeding he became severely short of breath and fatigued to the point we went to the ER.  He was told he has CHF with multiple leaky valves.  We have since found out he has interstitial lung disease, scarring on his lungs, fluid in the wall of his lung.  Today we found out he has a potential 70% or more blockage of his mesenteric arteries in his abdomen.  He is on oxygen and very weak.  He is in a lot of pain.  If he would need surgery to repair this mesenteric blockage would he survive?   I am concerned!!  Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

I suggest you be very wary of any technological fixes or more drug treatments.  The real issue is to increase the heart EF.   To help do this look into two remedies called Heart and Body Extract and Strauss Heart Drops.   The fluid on the lungs may require the assistance of Decker Weiss, natural cardiologist in AZ.

Thanks for the response!  He is on 40 mg torsemide and Koreg plus another med.  he uses a nebulizer for breathing too.  Doctor called today and wants a CT Angiogram.  Nurse said possibly angioplasty but we won't know until after test on Thursday.  To top it off he fell tonight and really banged himself up.  We see heart failure clinic PA this week too.  Thanks for your response.  Praying for an answer that he can handle!

He has too many co-morbidities, which would make valvular surgery difficult and recovery next to impossible. If the mesenteric vasculature was the be cleared by angioplasty (that is, endovascularly) his chances would certainly be better than with a laparotomy method. The CHF is manageable with medication (which incidentally will help with the fluid on the lungs).
