Can Acid reflux and constant gas cause chest pressure?

I have had a very difficult year with lots of body pains.  I've been on anti-inflammatories for months, the last being Mobic (meloxicam).  About a week ago, I had a couple of days of palpitations (95 to 110 b.p.m.) constantly.  I went to my pain doctor and he noticed it was unusually fast so he told me to stop the Mobic.  I had all day fast heart rate for next two days.  It's much better now; however, about a week ago, i woke up at around 4:00 a.m. with heart pressure.  Usually, I ignore anything with my heart because I suffer from anxiety and i always blame it on that.  But, it didn't go away.  I also noticed a strange taste in my mouth and my stomach was upset all day.  I have heartburn which I never have.  Even crackers that day caused reflux.  I had the chest pressure all day nonstop.  I saw my cardiologist and the EKG was normal but he ordered a stress test as the echo was normal a year or so ago.  The heartburn is a bit better, but i have been gasey for the past week, even when I wake up.  This is totally new to me.  I don't eat anything and I'm gasey.  Last night I woke up at 3:00 a.m. with heart pressure and a slight sharp pain.  It freaked me out, so i ended up having a panic attack.  I notice when I burp sometimes the pressure goes away.  The doc said gas can cause chest pain, but I want to be sure.  He told me to buy Zegerid and i've been taking it for two days.  Please tell me my stomach is a little sensitive right now and this is not a precursor to a heart attack.  I'm really scared.

Dear kitten,

It is common that heart burn and esophageal disorders get confused with some heart condition.

First at all you put yourself into that because of the excessive NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) consumption, this are the enemy number one for the stomach and are able to dig a big hole on it... once the stomach is irritated the esophagus come next and gets burned with the digestive acids. As a clear example just imagine an oral thrush how painful and uncomfortable is... well, that same thing but inside your stomach and esophagus... This doesn't anything to do with heart but at the same time is delicate cause if you don't get treated this condition could worsen. I suggest you to get immediately PANTOPRAZOL 40mg once a day and MELOX or TALCID 30 minutes after each meal. Avoid any kind of irritating food and believe me, in 2 or 3 weeks you will feel better.

Of course, this under a medical monitoring.

Blessings.
