Trouble Swallowing

Hello, I was diagnosed with Crohns several years ago.  Like a lot of people, I probably had it long before I was forced to address the issue.  I am currently on Pentasa and 6MP.  All seem to be doing okay.  However, recently I have been having a hard time swallowing.  I can actually feel everything in my throat.  Has anyone else experienced the same?  I hate to go through any tests if anyone has suggestions.  Wishing everyone long remissions!

I am having similar problems and I don't know what to do!! If you have any advice please help, I feel lost! I have the same problems swallowing and feeling as you do like there is more coming up. I was vomiting almost every night for about two weeks I then felt a little better and it only occurred every couple of days. Well right now I can't hold anything down. I'm afraid to eat, but I am very hungry.  I am now starting my days vomiting, sometime in the first couple of hours I wake up. I also started vomiting more than once a day. I went to the dr. last week with my son (mon.) I weighed 149 today we went back for a med check for him and I weigh 139 (wed) I tried for a couple of years after the last steroids to lose weight but couldn't do it. So no its not normal. I have nausea and vomiting and I can't sleep at night. Any advice..............PLEASE HELP!

I have had Crohn's 4 years and was on Pentasa and 6MP successfully for the first two. I have frequent problems with my esophagus. My doctor actually put me on Diflucan today for a really swollen throat because he thinks I have candida. I actually couldnt eat all day because it was so bad. It feels constricted, full and heavy.  Does your tongue look like thrush? You know, white and furry, like little babies who nurse? It might be as simple as that. After a treatment with the anti-fungal pills, my throat goes back to normal. I also deal with a lot of acid reflux and that causes all of the  burning in my lower esophagus. If you have an abnormal coloration on your tongue, it probably is some candida or other fungal infection and your doctor should be able to just look in your mouth and tell. Hope thats all it is!

I had the same thing a few years ago...I lost about 20 lbs because all I could take in was liquids...they gave me some steriods and did a swallow test to late offcourse, the steriods seem to have cleared it up...I was on Pentasa and took myself off I felt like it made me use the restroom more often and have pain in my side

I have had Crohn's for almost 12 years now I have been real sick for a while and this time I have found the same problem.  I can feel everything slowly sliding down my throat and I feel as if I am going to choke sometimes.  I am still waiting on a few more test but if you find out anything please post comment back.  Even after I finish eating and my stomach swells up I still feel as though things are being pushed back into my throat.  After I have been to the restroom many times I still have some food that will come back up.
