What symptoms did you experience with your Crohn's disease?

Crohn's disease is intermittent. This means that the inflammation occurs (flares) without warning and then goes away (goes into remission) over time. It is impossible to predict when the condition will flare, how long the flare will last, and when it will flare again. Most people feel pretty well when their disease is not active. The most common symptoms in Crohn's disease are those related to the inflammatory damage to the digestive tract. Crohn's disease symptoms include:Diarrhea: Waxes and wanes; stool may contain mucus, blood, or pusPain in the abdomen: Crampy or steady; in the right lower part of the abdomen or around the belly button; often relieved temporarily by having a bowel movementBloating after eating: Less common, usually seen in cases of bowel obstructionConstipation Usually seen in cases of bowel obstructionPain or bleeding with bowel movementInfection of the urinary tract or vagina: Suggests a fistula from the intestinal tractGeneral symptoms occur in some but not all cases, such as:Low-grade feversWeight lossFatigueOther symptoms of Crohn's disease may be attributable to related medical conditions affecting the skin, joints, mouth, eyes, (uveitis or Crohn’s disease eyes), liver, and bile ducts.

I've had bowel problems since l can remember. My main problem is diarrhea with very occasional bleeding also only got professionally diagnosed in 2008. l started to get ulcers in my mouth. I went to a dentist and she recommended a colonoscopy as she thought it was related from my gut. It's true that it was. Now l have Crohn's disease. l'm in process of getting treatment with a specialist. l've been using my diet as a help -- high fiber, very little dairy, NO wheat products, fish oil, flaxseed oil and little stress. It all helps but is NOT a cure.

this has been very interesting and updating my knowledge as i have had crohns but had a resect many years ago with great success, interesting that it is common in boys and the white population especially in the jewish community, i alway believe that my crohn wa due to me being allergic to dairy products and the bacteria in the dairy, i have a friend who is white/african and his son whos mother is white has been diagnoised with the condition and he is only 10,and it seens to be spreadin now to the mixed race community,

perianeal growths around the anus, including skin taglike growths could be caused by medications taken for crohn's that is over thirty years since diagnosis and the crohn's itself is well controlled? Could I have an opinion? Attending physicians seem baffled. Am a friend but have a nursing background. Thank you.

I have had Crohn's disease for 50 years, and 2 resections. Hospital visits and stays, medicines and diet help reduce pain and diarrhea. I have been on Humira now for 2 years and it has helped immensely. I have 2 children, one affected with Crohn's and the other with ulcerative colitis and now has a pouch. One thing I have also done is to not let this control me. I have never given in and believe me I have had many days when you feel that you could just curl up and die. Fight it all the way.

I have just been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I go to the bathroom frequently when I'm at work but I'm not going to let that stop me from working, so I'm trying to find foods that don't make me go to the bathroom a lot. Today I just found out eating fish help me a lot. I had no stomach pains or cramps and I have been drinking a lot of water. When I eat fast food, oh my goodness, I'm running to the bathroom like crazy.
