Prof Blasey-Ford’s Study Into False Memory Creation, Mind Contro

Hello Everyone. I think I am well enough to give it another shot.I'll try to keep up and try not to post on my bad days An easy indicator is when I start going all over the place. What happens is I'm typing a thought and my mind starts processing another thought and I began typing it before finishing the first thought. i don't know much about this sight but found it interesting.

Oh yes, I totally agree that he should not have launched into that attack against the Democrats, even going so far as to basically say it was "retaliation" for Hillary not winning the Presidency.

I, too, thought the Supreme Court was the last safe place left...  The Supreme Court is not supposed about politics; it's supposed to be about the law - they aren't supposed to make, they're supposed to interpret the law as it's written.  I don't think I'll ever look at their decisions as "the last authoritative word" again.  It will mean very little to me.

In addition to that, what little thought I've been giving to Congress has also hit rock bottom.  I have not one bit of respect for them either, with the possible exception of Lisa Murkowski, who was actually looking out for the people of her state when she said she didn't think he was the right person for the job (provided she doesn't change her mind)...

And yes, it's nice to have some intelligent conversation... I'm glad you're back.

A lot of people do things they don't like to do, or even are afraid to do, because it makes life easier for them.

I've read that there was a business conducted in Dr Blasey Ford's home, but she's a professor at Stanford University, not a marriage counselor.  She and her husband did, however, see a marriage counselor in 2012.

Aside from that, even if she were a marriage counselor, it's not usual for marriage counselors to see counselors for themselves.  Even counselors have problems with which they need help.  Psychologists are required to see a psychologist when they're in training to become a psychologist and they regularly see counselors on their own behalf if they have a client/patient that is difficult to treat or if they have issues in their own lives.

I'm not totally sold on that whole issue, but I still think her testimony was credible and it hasn't been totally disproven.

I don't believe that Judge Kavanaugh is a bad man, nor should his life be ruined...

The thing for me is his refusal to acknowledge that he might possibly have made mistakes when he was in high school and college.  His friend, Mark Judge wrote a book about the exploits of his teen years and mentioned "Bart O'Kavanaugh"... Judge Kavanaugh signed a letter that's now been widely publicized as "Bart"... do you really think this is not the same person discussed in Mark Judge's book, even though he and Mark Judge both refused to admit it?  In view of that, his refusal to admit his mistakes and even more so, his refusal to offer any sort of apology for anything he might have done to cause anyone, whether it be Dr. Ford or the other women who have come forward, any pain or suffering because of his behavior...

It's his refusal to acknowledge that he's human and doesn't belong on that pedestal he set himself on at the beginning that makes me believe that neither does he belong at the Supreme Court...

I think what bothers me the most about him is when he launched into partisan attack mode. I felt the Supreme Court was the only "safe" place left. I believe this whole mess has nothing to do with Kavanaugh or Ford. It's all about Reps vs. Dems.  Kavanaugh and Ford or just game pieces. It turns my stomach. I think maybe the Dems are playing "Pay Back" for O Obama. But on another note, it does feel good having an intelligent conversation.

She had no problems with claustrophobia or a fear of flying she flew all over for vacations. Even in 1st class, the quarters are tight but she seemed to have no problems with it when it was for her convenience. the extra front door was installed because the remodeling was to convert a section of the house was for a business. I read somewhere, the business was for Marriage Counseling. I find this ironic because she and her husband was going to Marriage Counseling. She claimed the door was an escape route due to her repressed fear caused by the attack. I don't know what the codes are there but I'm sure it had to do with a Fire Egress. at some point, I have to draw the BS line. I'm sorry that something may have happened to her but I'm leaning more and more that this version is in her head.

Well, I can't really dispute the front door issue; I find that a bit strange myself.  The flying -  not so much.  I thought it kind of strange at first, but then I reminded myself that I have claustrophobia (fear of small places) and I can make myself have an MRI or CT scan if it's not going to take too long or fly in an airplane or do any number of things that take place in smaller areas as long as I know the time I have to be there is limited.  My husband is afraid of heights but he loves to fly.

I guess I don't find the fact that she's in psychology that out of the ordinary.  People in psychology can be traumatized just as anyone else can.  They shouldn't be penalized simply because they would understand the traumatization and its effects better than most.  Psychologists have problems and seek psychological help for themselves just like we do.

You're correct - at the hearing, the judge admitted to drinking to beer, sometimes too much, but prior to that, he'd painted himself as some type of choir boy from grade school on.  I'd have to search for his quote... I'll post it when I find it...

Anyway, the unrealistic picture of himself that he painted, was, to me, what discredited him, along with his angry outbursts and the idea that he felt he could question the Senators in return for their questions made me feel like he thought he was above all that.

Where we disagree at, is Dr. Ford's testimony. I don't find it credible. When she lied about her fear of flying and why the extra front door was installed she lost my support. Also, keep in mind, she made a career, in Psychology so of course, her testimony would match many people who have been sexually assaulted. I heard him say, he drank a lot of beer in College and High School so he didn't lie about it and it wasn't that the witnesses were not in the room to witness it, none of them even remember being in the house. I know it sounds like I'm supporting him but I'm not. There is something about him I don't like. I don't know what it is but I know it has nothing to do with Ford or his High School/College behavior.

Well, he wouldn't have been one I'd have wanted on the Supreme Court because he has different beliefs than I do, but barring that, I think he set too high standards for himself and nobody can live as "lily white" as he insists he did...

If he'd have admitted from the get-go that he made mistakes as a young man and because he was a heavy drinker and "maybe" he didn't remember everything that happened while he was drunk, and it's possible "something" might have happened.  If he'd have apologized for anything he might have done to make Dr Ford uncomfortable or to suffer - anything at all - to indicate that he was human, I'd feel differently about him.  When anyone sets themselves on a pedestal the way he did, they deserve to be pushed off.

Now that classmates are coming forward saying that he was a sloppy drunk and they aren't saying the incident "didn't" happen; they're saying they don't remember it.  You have to remember that 2 of the witnesses weren't actually in the room, so of course, they can't say for sure that it did happen.  And I wouldn't expect that Mark Judge to say against his good friend, but he's already written a book about that time frame that disputes what Kavanaugh has said, so we know he lied...

I don't think the man's life should be ruined over it because I don't consider him a serial rapist like some people are calling him, but I don't think he should be confirmed as a Supreme Court Judge, simply because he's lied to Congress.

As for Dr Ford, her testimony was credible and does match many people who have been sexually assaulted.

The statute of limitations has run out and this was not a court trial, it was a job interview...

Welcome back, Ricky... I'm glad to see you're doing better.  We'll watch for the wandering and try to head off any difficulty that might be caused because of it.  Is that fair enough?

"Principia Scientific International (PSI) is an organization based in the United Kingdom which promotes fringe views and material to claim that carbon dioxide is not a greenhouse gas."  Also: "PSI claims it provides its members with a “reliable port of call to ascertain the facts behind the news stories to better judge whether information being presented by third parties is accurate information and reflects a balanced view of all facets of the subject.” [2]

The PSI website says the organization is “for everyone who supports the traditions [sic] scientific method against the rise of sinister and secretive government funded 'post normal science'.”

So I take it you think Dr Ford was less than sincere with her testimony last week?

I was trying to give her the benefit of doubt but, that soon crumbled. Out of all the accusations, I don't find any credible but, there's just something about him that doesn't sit well with me. I guess call it a "gut feeling."
