Does your gestational age of the baby date back to the exact date of conception?

This is a really complicated story...i really need someones help about this because it is depressing me and worrying me out completely..i know i'm probably worrying over nothing but i just cannot get this out of my head. Please help me.

I am 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant....i have a preety normal cycle as i get my period every month..i got my last period on the 11th of july..it lasted till the 15th july and on the next day the 16th of july i slept with a guy.

i got back with my boyfriend the 26th of july and had unprotected sex that night and many times after that before i found out i was pregnant.

I am almost certain that my boyfriend is the father of this baby because i had sex with the other guy one day after my period and slept with my boyfriend around the time i would have been ovulating.

its just i'm really confused now because when i went for my dating scan the baby measured at 11 weeks and 5 days..and when i count back it gives me a date of the 20th which was before i got back with my boyfriend.

Can this scan be off by a few days and am i worrying myself too much about this?

Please give me a good enough answer as i am very depressed over this and cannot get excited about my pregnancy over the worry.

Dear Betty,

Was your worries needless? I would like to ask coz right now I am in the same situation, it worries me because ppl say there is a possibility of early ovulation right after your period is finished. Plese help!

thats probably because of your ovulation you must have ovulated later in your cycle which points ever more to your boyfriend being the dad, the scan would have given you the dates that you are goin on now as when they measure the baby it comes up with the dates from the measurements

thanks for ur comment..i feel a bit better about it all now..but what i dont get is,if they date pregnancy back from the date of your last period then how come when i date back from the 14 weeks and 2 days that i am today..it gives me a date of the 20th of july when i last got my period on the 11th of july..its so confusing

i wouldnt worry as all the other posts have said they date your pregnancy from the first dat of your last period, so when your 4 wks bub is actually only 2 wks old, you generally ovulate mid cycle, so around 2 weeks after the start of your period sometims abit later sometimes abit eralier, the chances of you ovulating 5=6 days after your period begain are sooooooo slim and you've had regular sex with your b/f around the time of normal ovulation,  that i would def say its your b/f

I agree with PetiteWonder, as they do in fact add 2 weeks on.  So when they say your baby is 4weeks, you're actually only 2 weeks pregnant.  I am 25 weeks pregnant today, but if you do not subtract the 2 weeks then it would mean I concieved smack dab in the middle of my last period.
It's your boyfriends, don't be too worried about that!

i believe if they dated you 11 weeks 5 days then your  estimated conception date would have been 9 weeks 5 days back as doctors add 2 weeks..

the gestational age of your fetus is always 2 weeks less...  so it should be your boyfriends

Normally early scans are right on date wise, but there is a possibility it could be wrong. Maybe you ovulated early?
