Who is more likely to be the father of my baby?

I have been with my boyfriend for 12 years. I am pregnant with my second child. On November 22nd we had a huge, huge fight and I made a stupid decision to hook up with an ex. Up until that night me and my boyfriend were having unprotected sex 3-4 times a week. My ex used a condom and it was a one time thing. On November 28th I had a very faint positive pregnancy test. I wasn’t sure even if it was my ex’s if it would show positive that soon. (Literally one week from the night we had protected sex) I am now back with my boyfriend and that night has not been brought back up. Who do you think the father would be. Honest opinions please. I am now 16 weeks 3 days due date 8/10/20. Last period was on 11/4/19.

Everything suggests the boyfriend is the father. Congratulations on your second expected.

If you had sex November 22nd and got a positive on a pregnancy test November 28, the time gap you describe is only 6 days, not a week.  Six days is not late enough in early pregnancy to get a positive on a urine-based test. (Even if it had been a blood test at the doctor's office and not a home test done with urine, it's very difficult to get a positive as early as the sixth day after ovulation.) Your due date suggests you ovulated around the 18th, and that you would have been already pregnant, though by only about 4 days, when you had sex with your ex. If your due date was given to you by measurements from an ultrasound, that is further certainty that your pregnancy came from your boyfriend.

Yes my due date came from my ultrasound which lines up with my last period. I said one week because it was around 11-12 midnight when we had protected sex so I wasn’t sure. Even if it was a week, that’s still a little early to get a positive on a PT correct? I’m just super worried about this. My gut is telling me it’s my boyfriends but I still did something very stupid and put myself in this situation so I’m worried. Thanks for your response.
At what point in the pregnancy did you have the ultrasound that gave you the due date?
Ultrasound was on January 13th
OK, well then, your ultrasound was not quite early enough in the pregnancy to split the difference between the 4 days between presumed ovulation and when you had sex with Mr. Ex. But the ultrasound certainly doesn't contradict that your boyfriend is the dad or anything. Getting the positive on the pregnancy test when you got it, is the proof. You just wouldn't have gotten a positive on a home pregnancy test only 6 days after conception.

All your evidence -- the ultrasound, the condom use and especially the test -- points to your boyfriend. Get a DNA test once the baby is born if you would like (or if your boyfriend would like ... after all, a single guy has the right to be sure before committing to 18-21 years of support) but in your shoes, I'd definitely go through the pregnancy assuming the baby is from your boyfriend. And if you think it would stir suspicions in your boyfriend's mind, you don't really need a DNA test, with the pregnancy test having been positive so early.

Take care, and congratulations on your upcoming baby!
