New Information

Hi. I went to see my OB today & the ultrasound is now measuring me at 14w3d instead of 13w1d according to my LMP… everything was matching up with my LMP until now. So I’m further along than I thought?… Does this change who the father could be?

Hi, did the doctor explain that ultrasounds after your first trimester are not accurate for assessing how far along you are? By the time you get to full term, they can be three weeks off. Usually the doctor will set the due date based on what the first ultrasound said. As I recall, in your first ultrasound, the embryo was too small to even be sure it was an embryo. That hasn't changed. Please see a therapist if you can't stop obsessing over unrealistic scenarios.

I believe I’m still in my first trimester. Today was my first time seeing my actual doctor. The last time I got an ultrasound at 8wks1d was at a pregnancy resource center and the two ultrasounds before then, at the ER. Yes, me and the doctor did agree that a baby can be measuring bigger or smaller and ultrasounds are more accurate earlier.. so we kept my same due date (May 7th). I’m just trying to understand why I’m measuring a week and 3 days further along now.. that would make my due date April 28th she said.. would that date make the sex from July 12th from Guy A a possibility as the father? Isn’t it possible that I was measuring small in the first few ultrasounds and now the baby is actually measuring what it’s suppose to been?
I’m not trying to obsessive over “unrealistic scenarios”… I haven’t even been giving attention to the “what if” thoughts anymore. I decided to take all the medical proven facts as is & move forward. But now, this happens..  I’m genuinely asking these questions because I want to be sure.
If you had a baby actually due April 28, conception would be on or around August 4. Still not far enough back to be from Guy A on July 12. If you can't get this off your worry list, why not do a prenatal test with Guy A? It would keep you from feeling not sure.
I can’t afford it. Like I said I haven’t been letting it worry me, but this week & 3 day difference has me wondering.
You say, "I’m just trying to understand why I’m measuring a week and 3 days further along now." Possibly having had your medical care previously at a pregnancy resource center and the ER, your information will be inconsistent or not quite as precise. However, you have said before in your posts that you know all of this, and you've discussed the dates with your doctor. If so, you will know already that even if conception was on August 4 it doesn't mean the baby came from sex on July 12. I suggested a prenatal test because you're writing in again calling this "New Information" as though it throws everything into question, and it sounds like every time you get any more data from the doctor you're going to pore over it and ask if it suddenly changes everything and Guy A might be the dad. But if you don't want to spend the thou and a half that the test would cost, just remember, your first ultrasound didn't see anything that could clearly be identified. There is no such thing as "measuring small in the first few ultrasounds and now the baby is actually measuring what it’s suppose to been." If the baby was measuring so small that it was four weeks less developed than it should have been, it would not have continued.
Thank you for your responses.
