when was conception?

Hi, i am currently as of today 16 weeks and 4 days. I cannot remember having intercourse other than october 5th. before that was maybe September 16th-24th. Would i have conceived on the 5th? To me that seems innacurate. I had my first ultrasound on November 14th 2014 and they said i was 8 weeks 4 days. If i do the calculations it seems that i conceived around the 15th or 16th of september, can you please help me with determining the date of conception? Thank you.

Hi Annie

I am writing to you again just to ease my mind. I had my 22 week ultrasound and i am still at the same due date. I had spoke with my doctor and she confirmed that i conceived on or around the 29th and that there is no way it is the october 5th date. My baby is also measuring at a little bit more than 22 weeks as well. The only reason i get concerned is because i had my period september 18th.. THanks again.

the baby is a boy. the reason why i dont think the 5th of October would be the day is because i took a pregnancy text 2 in a half weeks later and it came up postive and there was no ejaculation on the 5th but on the 26th when i had intercourse. he went inside of me.

It sounds like you conceived on or near September 29.  Is the baby a girl?  I would stop stressing, but keep in mind that the time span between September 29 and October 5 is short enough that you should get a DNA test when the baby comes.  Because your ultrasound was so nice and early, it would be surprising if the sex on the 5th of October produced the baby, but you don't want to wonder for your whole life.

Thank you, and i was wrong about the last day i had intercourse. It was actually September 26th before the October 5th date. so this makes more sence to me now and that the person i had sex with on sepetember 26th would be the father. I know the earlier you have an ultrasound the more correct they are on the due date. Should i stop stressing and come to conclusion that i conceived between the 26th and the 29th of september?

It sounds like you conceived on or near September 29, presumably from the sex that you said happened 'maybe between the 16th and 24th.'  When you had bleeding, and even who ejaculated or did not, are not as significant to figuring out the date of conception as is the medical evidence from an ultrasound in your eighth week.  When the ultrasound measures the embryo and sees its developmental markers, those are the measurments that matter.  They trump all anecdotal evidence, all tales of who ejaculated, when you bled or did not, when the home pregnancy test read positive, what the cervical mucus looked like, when possible implantation might have been, etc.  The ultrasound saw and measured the actual embryo.  That is hard evidence, it will not be far off, in your eighth week..

okay, even if i had some light bleeding around September 18th? I know i had intercourse on the 19th of september where he went inside of me but when i had intercourse on the 4th/5th of october there was no ejaculation. Does this make sense? What are your thoughts?

Hi, it sounds like you conceived on or near September 29.  The 15th or 16th would be when the doctor thinks you had the first day of your last period.  Gestational age counts in pregnancy (the "GA") begin there.  So when the doctor told you on November 14th thaat you were 8 weeks 4 days "pregnant," he or she was saying 8 weeks 4 days since the presumed first day of your last period.  Conception would be assumed to be two weeks later, or 6 weeks 4 days backward in time from November 14.
