I see both a vascular surgeon and in the hospital after I was diagnosed I saw a hematologist who did blood clotting testing as well as monitor my warfarin therapy for 6 months at their clinic. I would see both.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
Deep vein thrombosis is caused by a deep clot formed in the veins. You should consult a vascular surgeon. They treat it with medications or minimally invasive procedures. You may see a primary physician first. After a clinical examination he may further refer you to a vascular surgeon. Do keep me posted with more queries.
Best luck and kind regards!
