Jennifer, I just want to answer this to get the word out that if you are having dental problems from Suboxone please go see a doctor to have your kidney function checked. I am in renal failure from taking Suboxone for seven years and I had a lot of these warning signs like tooth decay and gum problems, severe constipation ( which also ruins your kidneys) infections etc. Then the detox process was so horrible, I was unable to eat or drink or even get up from my bed, and the resulting rapid weight loss flooded my system with all of the toxins stored in my fat cells and pretty much decimated my kidneys. No one should be on this poison for more than 45 days and that's too long. So if you decide to get a class action together and I'm still around I'm in.
I was on Suboxone 8/2mg tablets for 3 years and then was switched to the strips for 2 more years. In that time, I went from having nice healthy teeth, to being in excruciating tooth pain, to ultimately losing all of my teeth due to the rotting caused by Suboxone (I believe the tablets caused most of the rotting and decay). I have all the paperwork documenting all of my dental visits and dental work performed including pictures. Ultimately, I spent over $45000.00 on dental work to correct this issue and suffered through about 3 years of pain. If anyone knows of a class action suit against the manufacturer of this medication please let me know. Thanks!
I have the same issues. Please someone answer this question,
My daughter is 27 and has 2 beautiful children, 7 and 5. She has been on suboxone since she was 19 and had my 1st grandchild Veda. My daughter is a recovering addict. She stopped using opiates when she found out she was pregnant and went of subutex. Thankfully both my grandbabies were fine and are healthy as the day is long and smart as whips!
But my daughter is not. Her teeth have rotted so bad and she looks like a skeleton. She is a shadow of herself. She has no self-esteem due to the loss of her once gorgeous smile. She is 5' 7" and weights 105 lbs. You can see her collar bone, every rib in the front, in her back and you can count every vertebrae. She also suffers from horrible constipation. In addition to everything else, as if it weren't enough, she is horribly depressed. Still.
This suboxone has just replaced one drug with another as far as I am concerned. She is just as addicted to this as she was to all the opiates that came before. She still faces the demise of her physical health as well as her emotional health.
I don't know what to do. I've called all her doctors with my concerns and they all cry HIPPA!!! They don't care as long as they're getting paid. We all know this. So the least I can do is see if there is a Class Action Lawsuit I can participate in to get some money to help my daughter get her teeth fixed and maybe put some money away for my grandkids' future should anything happen to their mother if she suffers an untimely death due to suboxone, the legal drug, or another.
I struggled with addiction for 6 years was on methadone for 2 years and on suboxone for 3 1/2 and had tried on several occasions to stop and couldn't believe how hard it was to stop taking the subutex/suboxone it is just as hard as everything else. The doctors were very misleading about that fact, but the women who works at the front dest of the doctors office gave me a samples of this drug to try one I started tapering down and you stay on it for 14 days and now after 11 years in FREE!!!
