Is the blood clot there? It should be healing by now and there should not be much pain. Can you get back in to see the second dentist to find out what's going on? I am so sorry the first one did this to you. He really should have sent you to an oral surgeon in my opinion. A wisdom tooth is big and usually requires a stitch or two after extraction.
yeah i dont know what it is but when i rinse it out it starts hurting is that normal i dont know when its ever going to heal but i just wish that it would hurry do you know how long it takes for the hole to fill in?
Oh. And congratulations on not smoking!
No, don't be sorry. I'm here to help if I can. Did you check to see if you're forming a good blood clot? Are you having any pain in the socket? If the blood clot loos okay and your having bad breath, give the last dentist a call to see if can stop by to have him look at it to make sure there is no infection. If there is, he will probably prescribe antibiotics. I'm surprised the first one did'nt. Well, not really as he did'nt sound like the best dentist. I have had several teeth removed and I usually get an antibiotic and a pain med. All dentists are different though.
yeah still no smoking im very excited about it! when i first went to have my tooth extracted and after i started using saltwater my mouth started tasting and smelling very bad well guess what my breath is smelling bad my hubby said that its not as bad as last time but you can still smell it im worried that the drysocket is back or does it work like that do you have bad breath after a tooth is pulled? its sore around my ear and my jaw bone but the new guy told me that it will feel like a ear ace then it should get better! please just awenswer this one last question sorry to keep asking you things!!!! thanks alot
What a shame! Yes, most wisdom teeth can be hard to pull and many dentists won't mess with them. They will send you to on oral surgeon, That's what my dentist did and it took the oral surgeon about wo minutes to remove it.
Really, your still not smoking? Good for you!
I would give it a couple more days before you eat anything solid, just to be safe. Stick with pudding, jello, soups, things like that.
You can start using the salt water right away. It helps with the healing.
Your very welcome. I hope you feel better very soon. I do think the second dentist was the best one.
Thanks for taking the time to write me again! when i went to the new one he told me that its hard to remove wisdom teeth funny thing is the first guy said that it was a molar hahah my mom also said that once he couldnt get it out right away he should have sent me over to the os but i guess he really wanted that 600.00! i havent smoked since the day be 4 my tooth was extracted because i have anixity and i told myself that i didnt want drysocket funny i got it anyways i dont use a straw or spit nothing like that i really hope that this works this time im worried that i want ever heal and ill be stuck like this all my life! i had that scraping yesterday when can i start eating solid foods? im trying my best not to do anything that will hurt it i know that its sore in there today i just hope thats not drysocket coming back! also when do i need to start using saltwater?thanks again
Hi, this is Remar again. It took 2 hours to remove your tooth?!! I hope your dentist took xrays first. In my opinion, if the tooth was that hard to remove he should have sent you to an oral surgeon. They specialize in hard to remove teeth.
Yes, I do think the second dentist did the right thing. You need that blood clot to form again. Do not smoke, drink through a straw, only eat soft foods for a few days, no soda. Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water should help. No mouth wash and no swishing. Just let the salt water rest in your mouth for a minute and let it run out in the sink.
I really hope this works and you have no more problems. Keep me up to date.
