Dry and peeling lips

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has ever had a dental issue that has caused chronic chapped lips? My lips continually dry and peel and are very uncomfortable. I've seen both a dermatologist and allergist, tried many lip balms, prescription strength topical steroid and antibiotic ointments, vitamins, cleansing diets, etc. No luck. I wonder if I may have some underlying dental issue going. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you very much! Are you aware if such a specialist tends to practice independently or in partnership with dental practice? I haven't been able to find such a specialist in my area. (I live in an urban area of reasonable size.) I appreciate your help.
