I have had Hairy tongue for a year now.
I live on Chewing gum, and breath mints. Sometimes I will not talk when I do not have a breath mint or chewing gum in my mouth, purely because of the smell, or because it is soo sticky I wouldn't even be able to pronounce anything clearly. Its has drastically changed the quality of my life. I had to deter from University. (I am starting again but it still has not gone away.
I think I got it from using an inhaler and not washing my mouth out after that? Im also a smoker, I know I should have quit by now, but I also know quiting smoking alone was not going to heal this problem of mine. Apparently your suppose to wash your mouth out after inhalers, good thing the doctor didn't tell me -_-
I have tried everything possible. You name it;
-nill-stat 5-6 times,
-anti fungal lozenges maybe I have had 15 prescriptions of those,(although the lozenges help just a little bit while you are on them they are no real remedy)
-2 types of very strong anti fungal pills. One is which is a one pill only dose( that always remains in your system?), the other being a pill a day for 4 weeks.
-Mouth wash, scrapping.
I am currently waiting for my ENT specialist appointment, I understand lazer will be offered to me to finally get my tongue back to normalish. I'm just not sure at what cost? will I still have taste buds.. will my tongue be a weird shape. Oh by the way, why the F*** didn't my doctor refer me to a ENT specialist earlier!!!! This has been such a low year for me purely from this hairy fungal tongue its absolutely horrible.
Is there any stories similar to mine, or any success stories?
*there really isn't much to go on from research unfortunately!
