I have gum disease.

I have gum disease. Recently got a gum access around loose tooth . The dentist gave me antibiotics and said the tooth may stabilise. I have completed the course of antibiotics but swelling is still in my gum although the tooth feels a little firmer . Would more antibiotics help? I can't see my dentist for a while. Help please?

Are you using a waterpic? and flossing regularly? If you have insurance for a general physician they can give you antibiotics.

|If you don;t already, grab an electric toothbrush and massage your gums as well as clean your teeth. It's much easier to talk yourself into brushing more often and for longer with an electric toothbrush.

Using dental floss is imperative and it's optimal to use it after every meal., as well as using a waterpic. (a great investment you wont' regret). Using mouthwash in the reservoir (along with the water) will help your tooth to stabilize.

There's  a few home remedies available online.
This one is from India.. http://www.medindia.net/homeremedies/loose-teeth.asp#

Remember, before there were dentists and doctors, people made these home remedies work for them, so take the time and try to check them out and see what works,

Hope to hear that you found something that stabilizes your tooth. Thanks for posting and please remember to let us know how you're doing. There's plenty of people that read the posts here that don't comment, but i'll be watching for your post.

Best of luck with finding a solution.
