Inner bone exposure after extraction

My Mom has been suffering from inner bone exposure, which is taking a long time to heal after she had a critical tooth extraction (at the end of the mouth, near jaw bone joint) 2 months back. During the extraction there was a lot of bleedings and severe pain. She had 2 courses of strong Anitbiotics and lots of pain killer. She does gurgle 4 times a day with warm salt water to wash out any food particle that might remain in the exposed bone portion. She also tried Clove oil. Sometimes, the pain is little but most of the time, even after 2 months, she is getting severe pain and swellings for the past 3 days with no relief after having pain killer tablets. She cannot eat solid foods but semi-liquid only. One doctor said she has Dry Socket but it seems there are no treatments for it. We are really worried about our Mom as we visited a lot of dentists but none could come out with a proper medication.

Please provide your expert advice.

That'd be my initial treatment recommendation too as a first guess.  Normally it just takes time for the body to heal but 2 months is quite a bit of time.  Its unusual for some swelling to occur.  That would lead me to suspect some infection or delayed healing.  I would do something more drastic such as re-entering the site to see if there might be something in there.  Have they taken x-rays afterwards to make sure there's nothing left in there?  Also, I heard once of a story in which a suture got buried into the gums and left a chronic infection. Perhaps you should ask this question in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery section to see what the oral surgeon there has to say.

Yes, she had been to many Dentist, who cleaned the affected area, sometimes packed with a gel. Later the Dentist said that we need to wait until it gets healed and recommended to go gurgle 4 times a day with warm salt water.

Has your mom gone to an oral surgeon to get the area checked out?  They may need to debride (clean out the area) and remove any infection.
