I’ve had a tooth abscess for YEARS!

Hey everyone, so I’ve had a tooth abscess for YEARS now (since my junior year of high school) and I’ve gone a couple times to the dentist and have gotten a round of antibiotics but never went back to get the tooth pulled after finishing the antibiotics, over the years I’ve been able to pop the abscess though it wasn’t very much puss that came out at all, so I figured I was ok as long as I was able to drain it. So here I am about 10 years later and my abscess seems to have gone away, it doesn’t bother me at all and there are no signs or symptoms of an abscess where mine used to be. A lot of you may think that is very dumb or negligent of me but I have a CRIPPLING fear of dentists. Anyways I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were considering everywhere I look it says that an abscess cannot go away on its own?

I've had an abscess (it's draining and draining and draining) for about 10 years, but it hasn't gone away totally yet, but it's much better than it was initially.  I take cod liver oil with butter oil and try to avoid eating a lot of sugar and refined flour. I do have high blood pressure which I heard that it may be caused by a long term infection, so it's something to watch out for. That is SO great your abscess has healed! What did you do, or what did you eat to help that along? Funny how dentists and the "health" profession don't seem interested in truly healthy people who have somehow bucked the trend like you did with getting rid of your infection.

Mine is much better but still there. Luckily I eat well and don't eat a lot of doughnuts, cakes, cookies, other fake foods....which help keep the rest of my teeth in my head. I also drink raw milk which helps a LOT. Occasionally if I fall off the wagon and eat stuff I shouldn't eat (like chocolate, cookies, etc) and don't take my cod liver oil (I just take 1/4 tsp a day when I remember to, I use Greene pastures), I can end up having some sort of back pain (which runs along my spine) and headaches. This also happens if the abscess doesn't drain for a few days...icky, I know! Too much information, ha ha!

But if I keep away from sugar and white flour and eat meat with the fat on it (like our ancestors ate for centuries and were healthier than people today!), I'm so far so good! NO brain infection or sepsis or whatever they try to scare you with for me yet. The only thing is my blood pressure can get high (sometimes 190/95 or more and I don't take pills), which may have something to do with my abscess. BUT, I have a healthy fear of dentists and especially doctors, due to some horrid memories that happened when I was a child and had surgery. So I totally understand how you feel!

That's wonderful your abscess is totally gone, I pray it never comes back.
