Needle and Equipment question.

Hello I was hoping some one could help me I think I know all the parts to a dental syringe but what is the part that goes over the syringe its self its metal with a curved needle its been on my mind for some time and how is it cleaned.? I have never could find it on a internet search, you would take it off to refill the cartridge i saw a
dentist dos this at a dentist appointment a few years ago .

its a metal cylinder that goes over the needle and the syringe and locks into place it has it own curved needle that’s what goes in the gum.

if a dentist pocks him self before
making an injection and never changed the needle
is their a possible risk for the patient to contract  HIV?
just an idea that's sticking with me

i'm talking about a separate needle part that's metal that goes over the syringe its self that has a curved needle.

Needle tip is thrown away. The syringe itself is autoclaved.

The injection syringe is sterilized by autoclave. Plastic  needle is disposable.

thanks i was confused because i could not find the part i was taking about online their the syringe then the metal part that goes over the whole syringe  with the curved needle so the needle tip goes in to the autoclave?
