Putrid Taste

3 years ago, I started to get a terrible taste coming from between my 2nd and 3rd back teeth.  Tastes bitter on my tounge & is hard to get rid of with mouthwash & brushing. Is now constant.  Feel some pressure up in root area.  Gums feel like they should be red & swollen but there are no visible symptoms according to dentists.

3 dentists & a periodontist tell me there is no swelling, redness or absess.  No physical signs of anything.  Xrays show nothing.  I floss regularly & have overall good teeth.  Since this started, gums are receeding, which leads me to belive there is excess bacteria.

Have had root scaling & the area packed with antibiotics.  There was no taste while the teeth were packed but when the packing came off, mouth was filled with the taste.

I floss daily, which releases the taste.  If I suck hard in that area with my tounge, it releases more of the taste.

Can you tell me what might be causing this?  Is it dental, or could it be sinus related.  I have regular sinus problems related to winter colds.  The dentists tell me there is no connection between this area and the sinus.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The taste in all likelyhood is from the particular bacteria in the area. You seemed to have consulted the correct professionals. If you have exhausted all the avenues I would suggest you seek out an oral pathologist. These doctors can usually be located in a teaching hospital or a dental school. You might try calling the local dental society if you are having difficulty in locating this type of specialist.

sounds periodontal to me, or else it could be leakage of crown margins if these teeth indeed are crowned
