Sensitive Teeth with Temporary crowns?

So I'm getting new crowns on tooth #30 and #31. The dentist, cut down the gums to make room for the new crowns. The temporary crowns are not sitting against the gumline at the moment, so if I move my tongue around the bottom of the temp, I can feel the edge of the temp. My concern is obviously food getting caught undernear the temp and into the tooth. Is this normal for a temporary crown?

Also, if I drink water, and swish on that side of the mouth, I get loot of sensitivty pain. Is this due to being a temp crown and will it go away with a permanment? #30 already had a root canal done, so I suspect #31 is the culprit. I've been avoiding chewing  on that side

I should backtrack a bit. The new crowns are coming from a new dentist. My old one retired and the original crowns were a HORRIBLE fit. Too high, caused me lots of issues, bad material, etc. New dentist had to cut down more of my tooth and more of my gums to get a good impression, and it actually took 2 appointments. These crowns are temps he had, nothing to do with the original crowns.

Hi, the temp should be of the same fit quality of the original crown. Go back to the dentist and tell him this. I belive the temp and the original crown are from the same mold.
