Spot in mouth

I have a white and red patch on the very back of my inner cheek. It has been there for two weeks and does not hurt or bleed. I have made an appointment with the doctor to have it looked at but in the mean time I wonder if someone could let me know if benign painless lesions could last longer then 2 weeks or does this really sound like a malignancy. Its about the size of a dime. There is a broken tooth above it but its not jagged.

You were right to schedule an appointment with a dentist.  A biopsy would be a good idea.  It may just be irritation from your broken tooth, but you're better safe than sorry.

Best of luck to you

You doctor will determine what risk factors there are and whether or not it would be worth to perform a biopsy on the area.  If a biopsy is performed, then a diagnosis can be made.  It may not be able to make a diagnose based upon visual examination alone.

But considering there are sharp teeth in the area, it could be the tissues reaction to the trauma from the teeth.
