It sounds like the area is starting to heal up as the swelling is reducing.  Continue with the antibiotics as well until they are finished.  Have you been maintaining your home care with the instructions given by your doctor?  You may want to try to gently rinse the area with some warm salt water and see if you can clean the area out.  There may be some food stuck in the socket thats rotting and giving you a bad taste/smell.

You may also want to return to your dentist and have them clean the area out for you with a syringe if its bothering you too much.

Great to hear.  Did you ever find out what was causing it exactly?

It might be a flu that could be causing your symptoms. If that is the case, the symptoms should go away by themselves as you recover from the flu.  Your socket will also heal so that'll help with the situation as well.

Hope that helps.

Ah!  Good to know.  Glad it wasn't anything too serious.  Hopefully everything'll be back to normal once you get over the flu and finish up the antibiotics.

well it was flu allright, but i think the dad taste and smell was due to excessive antibiotics effect that i was taking as the first doze were not effective so doctor increased it, but my stomach was guttering everything hence causing the effect.

Many thanx for ur quick response,Doctor didnt tell me to rinse it with  anything but  now i will as u said, i think the rotten smell and odour might be due to flu that seems to be stuck in my head since i have started antibiotics,i feel something going in my throat also when i get the bad taste and its not continously smell or taste bad but as i move my head to different positions it gets more rotten and feels like gutter, sometimes as the muscus comes it is very sticky whats your kind opinion about this?, i live i n a very cold climate and soon after i had my tooth removed i started eating cold stuff that might have caused the flu to stuck in my head too.
thnx
