decaying teeth whats the damage?

Ive had dental problems my whole life and up until now ive had controlled the problems with dental visits. Then I lost my job and going to the dentist was out of the question financially. Well now im back on track and finally getting my teeth fixed. But until then Im dealing with 3 decaying teeth and a mouth full of cavaties. Im afraid of the damage its doing to my body. Can anyone please help me and give me some serious warning signs as to when my teeth are making me ill. Ive had an abscessed tooth and got that extracted. 2 of my teeth are broken to the gum and one is just the shell of the tooth nothing inside and half broken. I dont have swelling or bleeding gums , I dont have pain just broken decaying teeth.

I would definitely get that lump checked out.  Any lump in the neck region could be a sign of infection or a tumor/cancer.  Its a serious symptom to have.

Well a chronic low grade infection that encourages the buildup of bacteria in the body will result in stress on the immune system and chronic inflammation.  Its been related to heart disease and diabetes.

In terms of serious symptoms, what you describe as an abscess would be a serious symptom with pain, swelling, difficulty breathing/swallowing is a life threatening sign, swelling spreading to the eye area, difficulty opening your mouth, etc.

There can be a large amount of symptoms that can indicate problems with your teeth.  There could be pain, swelling, fever, bad taste or smell, pus drainage, bleeding, etc.  An abscess can spread to various parts of the body, from the head region down to the neck to the chest cavity.  Its hard to really simplify your question because anything could potentially be a symptoms of your teeth's infection.
