Wow! walked home after wisdom teeth extracted! Thanks for the info.
here in the U.S. most simple wisdom teeth removals are done with ga and sometimes a little gas just for relaxation not to knock you out. even more complicated procedures like impacted wisdom teeth rarely require a hospital. being completely sedated is more risky than just being numbed up. i only had two wisdom teeth come in (top only) and yes after they were pulled under ga in the regular office i walked a mile home!
Hi Lynn,
It is a common practice in Melbourne to have 4 widsom teeth extract at the hospital. Her dental surgeon said use anesthetist for GA. Not support to use sedation. Sedation more risky (This is first time I heard of.) I thought GA is more risky than sedation, isn't it?
Nothing special, just extract 4 widsom teeth at once. She is 20, first time in the hospital as an inpatient. May be the Melbourne dental surgeon wants to do the widsom teeth extract at this way. Are your country doing at the dental clinic? Just walk home after the extraction?
more details please! this doesnt seem like just a simple extraction. a plain old extraction, even for all 4 is a relatively simple procedure that involves little pain or difficulty. what exactly is she having done to need to use the hospital?
