did they mess them up?

So a few years ago, I had went to the dentist after a long time of not going. Found out I had 10 cavities. They took them all out. I was relieved . Now when I eat ice , both sides hurt. I noticed that after they removed all the cavities.
Before that, I use to eat ice like it was nothing. It still hurts after all those years. I just never went back to tell them. I went to the dentist a year ago , but it was just to see if I had anything.  I didn't.  They made an appointment a week after, but i missed it. & since then I haven't went again. Now my left side of my teeth hurts when I eat candy. Like when I eat chocolate, it feels cold & it hurts. My brother says I might have a cavity there. I made an appointment & it's for this wednesday coming up. This time i'm planning to get braces.
But my question is, did the last dentist mess my teeth up by taking out the cavities?
Could they ever fix them so i won't have pain while eating ice or candy?
I don't want to live with pain for the rest of my life!

The reason you may be getting cavities is because of a lack of effective cleaning and treating practices. In my opinion going to the dentist is primarily for fixing serious problems like filling a cavity or worse. To avoid these issues and to successfully avoid the dentist you have to have a very thorough cleaning strategy that is consistent. Using all the tools like a waterpik, string floss, a high quality natural tooth paste, using a rinse like hydrogen peroxide
or other bacteria fighting rinses. I even use some special herbs in liquid form.
I have kept my teeth and gum healthy for the last ten years with only one or two visits to a dentist for a crown issue. As far as cavities you can prevent them on your own but it takes consistent diligence.

Cavities always need to be cleaned out and filled.  Eating ice is so hard on your teeth, so you don't want to be doing this.  Tell your dentist about the sensitivity and try using a toothpaste made for sensitivity to cold and sweets like Sensodyne and you should feel a difference.
