teeth

I have really bad pain in my teeth it's so painful that I wake up in the night, I have lost a lot of sleep, I'm also feeling really down about this, The pain is in my neck and in my ear, i have gums that are very red and around the area of the bad tooth the gums are raised, I have had a deep filling in my tooth in the tooth that is bad, I had this pain for sometime now, on friday I will go have the tooth taken out, Is there anything I can do to stop the pain until friday I take solpadol codeine which the doctor gave me which helps but now i have stabbing pain near to my arm and sometimes I have pain in my face, It hurts when I move my neck and it also hurts when I sleep on it, The reason why I have allowed it to get so bad is because Im scared of going to the dentist and at 1st I didn't have any pain so I just left it, Im so upset with myself for not going, please help me I just wanna sleep on night time plus I just want the pain in my arm to go away.

Good luck - I don't think the pain after the extraction will be half as bad as what you've put up with so far!  And hopefully will let the healing begin.  I too, am resolved to start taking MUCH better care of my teeth!  :-)  Take care.

After putting up with horrible tooth pain for a week and a half, mine got so bad I had to have an "emergency" extraction (mouth was swollen to about the size of a baseball).  As soon as they took the bad tooth out, the pain started getting better right away.  I would actually see if they can move your appointment for extraction up sooner; this sounds serious, and you don't want to mess around with a bad tooth infection.  It's really not as bad as I thought it would be.  I won't be as nervous if this ever happens again.  You can choose to be put under anesthesia if you have an oral surgeon do the extraction, you'll never know what hit you.  My pain after the extraction was very mild, I just used Aleve.  Good luck... get some help for that, and don't be afraid.  Also, if you can get some vicodin that helped the most with the pain for me.
