Today Im really depressed -maybe I need to be on them!

Hi!
Cipralex (escitalopram) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It can cause SSRI withdrawal syndrome characterized by nausea, electric shock like feeling, sweating, insomnia, confusion, vertigo, tremor and nightmares. So, if you do not have these symptoms and are only feeling depressed, you are probably suffering from SSRI discontinuation syndrome. You may need to restart Cipralex or any other anti-depressant.
However, since you have been on it for 20 years, you should consult a psychiatrist for complete psychological evaluation before treatment is re-initiated. After evaluation your doctor will decide whether you need further treatment or the symptoms will go away with time.
I sincerely hope you will find this information useful in your journey towards better health.
Hope you feel better soon! Good Luck and take care!
