SIDE EFFECTS OF EFFEXOR

Could leg pain bilateral be a side effect of effexor?  I am taking effexor for tx of migraines 75mg at night.  I have been taking for 2 1/2 months and am having bilateral leg pain.  My doctors tell me that this is not a side effect but it started when I began the effexor.  The pain is very similar to the pain in my legs during my menstrual cycle.  I had a hysterectomy in 2000 so I don't believe that this is the case.  I would appreciate any suggestions or help. My email address at home is Missy4taz_***@****.  Thanks again.

I am experiencing the leg pain from effexor as well.  75mg every night...

Two questions:

1.  Does it come in a lower dose than 75mg?  (it is a capsule and can't be split)

2.  What does "carefully" mean exactly when "getting off" Effexor?

I have thought about how I could wean myself off, but since I can't split my dosage, should I just skip every other night?

THANKS

I have recently started taking Effexor. I take it before bed. I wake up throughout the night with a headache, nausea, diahrea, sweats, insomnia, weird dreams and heart burn. These symtoms are quite annoying because I to go to work the next day and with no sleep I have a hard time coping. When I wake in the mornings I have severly dialated pupils they are the same size as the colour of my eyes. At first my pupils were dialated only in the mornings and then they started to stay dialated all day. Whe I am outside they go down but when I am inside they get big again. It has gotten to the point that I am seeing a grey smokey haze in rooms that I am in. I drive so this is not good either. I have spoken to hte pharmacist and he said that this is not a common side affect and that maybe my system can't handle the dose that I am on. And my eyes are something to fool around with.

What should I do. I need something for my depression and I have so many allergies, that it is hard to find the right thing to put me on.

Although bilateral leg pains is not a common side effect, there are so many other possible side effects reported with Effexor, I would ask your doctor about cutting the dose in half to see what happens. Also, if you get off effexor, do it carefully.
