What I really want to know is.....????

Comment By: JoesBrain on Thursday, May 03, 2001

I was really looking for an answer to a different question. I seem to be stabilizing myself on only 50mg. of imipramine. But even at this
low amount it is pushing my cardiovascular system, even though I am already on 50mg. of Toprol. I'm particularly concerned more so
about the tachycardia. After months of therapy (on imipramine) it gradually begins to disturb conduction causing lots of PVC's. My
question is....In a battle to slow the heart down ....if the dosages are tweaked just right ....will the beta-blocker buffer the cardio-cranking
effects of the TCA..imipramine.??? Or, in a scenario that I want to stay on imipramine, are there other cardiovascular agents that can buffer
       these side effects..???

I appreciate the true concern, but I've come to believe that the "really" dangerous territory were the months I spent while on Effexor, with perfect cardiovascular readings, but riddled with contemplations of my death and suicide. Adjusting arrythmyias seems like a walk in the park...lol...Incidently, I've been under close cardiac care for 24 yrs. while on imipramine, as well as a psychologist, and soon a psycopharmacologist, so the question of balancing a beta-blocker and a tricyclic was simply for yet one more informed opinion. I would still be interested in your best guess..???

I think you have the ablility to understand the effects of toxins in the human body and you should get a book from barnes and Nobles book store called the Cure for all Diseases. By Dr. Hulda Rehger Clark.  It only costs $21.95. She tells about scientific studies she has proven the illnesses we get are caused from parisites and pollution.  Some from the things we eat and use on our bodies on a daily basis. If you want to help your self get this book.

I am actually afraid to answer this question because it seems you have taken over your own medication management, and in this case, I believe you should be closely supervised by a cardiologist.  You are in dangerous territory.
