Effexor XR and menstrual cycle

I have been taking Effexor XR 37.5 mg for about 6 weeks now. I had a regular period a week after first starting this med. Now I'm 5 days late and I don't think I could be pregnant, but will be testing to be sure. Can this drug have an affect on my cycle?

i have been taking Effexor xr 75 mg for 2 wks, i started at 35 mg for two weeks and then it was increased the last two weeks to 75 mg and i had a normal starting period, right on time, and then now i am 10 days into the period, should i be worried? i did make an appt for tomorrow to see my obgyn and i will tell him i am on the meds! so should i stop the meds if he says it is to blame for the lengthy period?

It shouldn't, but you can never be sure with a medication like this...
