CAN DEPRESSION OF GREAT MAGNITUDE TURN IN TO SCHIZOPHRENIA

I HAVE A 15 YEAR OLD COUSIN WHO LOST HIS DAD TO AN ANEURYSM WHEN HE WAS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD AND TOOK IT VERY HARD CAUSE HIS DAD WAS THE ONLY AROUND DUE TO HIS MOM BEING AN ALCOHOLIC SO NEVER SHOWED HIM AFFECTION. ANYWAY SINCE HIS DAD PASSED HIS MOM RARELY CAME AROUND BUT WOULD STILL CALL HIM WHEN SHE WAS DRUNK BUT SHE LEFT WITHOUT TELLING HIM AND THAT DESTROYED HIM ALL OVER AGAIN AND RECENTLY BEGAN TALKING LIKE HE WASNT ABLE TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE FANTASY N REALITY

Does he have access to a doctor?  That's what he needs if you are worried about his state of mind and mental health.

No.  But that doesn't mean he doesn't have it.  Only a psychologist or psychiatrist can diagnose this, not us and not you.  But depression and anxiety can be pretty severe with some severe reactions that can be pretty bad without it being a psychosis.
