I had the same thing happened and it was when I had ruptured disc's in my neck. I also developed "cervical vertigo" from the neck injury/surgeries. What you described sounds like cervical vertigo. There are physical therapists that specialize in cervical vertigo. You might want to see you your doctor knows anything about this and can refer you to a physical therapy group that has a therapist that deals with this. It can take a while to get in with them.
In addition I have fibromyalgia. I often describe how I feel and it's what you described. I don't do any type of drugs other than prescription but I often feel hung over, my eyes are swollen, pretty much what you described when I have a flare up of fibromyalgia.
Food and what you drink can also cause these symptoms. You could have food allergies. If you eat a lot of sugar especially high fructose syrup which is in everything or soda often times even if these things never bothered you they could be causing allergies. So look at what you are eating, drinking. But look in to the cervical vertigo which can be related to a disc protrusion/rupture and/or fibromyalgia.
Erratic sleeping behaviors can cause ones eyes to look puffy -I think.
Maybe your eyes aren't being lubricated enough due to the eye injury?? The scaring might be effecting your vision enough to make you feel like there is a change in equilibrium.
Your bowel movements may just indicate a change in diet.
It does sound like you are stressed and anxious. Stress can create a lot of tension in the neck muscles, etc. I feel it a lot in my back too.
Migraines can be triggered by stress as well.
I wonder if what you are describing is a dissociative phase due to the dope or possibly even withdrawal from it.
I would recommend you see a psychiatrist.
I think part of the eye issue is separate (the other part being stress-related).
There is an eye health expert forum if you want to discuss your eye issues there.
You do describe a typical migraine, and most do have a precursor of an aura. Obviously you have no brain issues so we can rule this out. I once experienced this same thing, and it was ALL stress. I could look at a wall that had striped wallpaper and the stripes would move forward, things like you describe. I know exactly what you mean as "brain fog", most people do, so I would think a doctor would also, but may ask you to expand on what you are feeling. There are many conditions that causes the eyes to bulge, and it may be causing some of your other symptoms also. Graves for example causes one to stare a lot. Hyperthyroidism can also be contributing to some of it, and also a herniated disc which is now pressing on a nerve. I think you have several things going on, severe stress/anxiety, depression, and a medical condition. Also look at any medications you may be on. Your GP may be bery kind and caring, but that's not helping you. I would see a psychiatrist and go from there. I think you are depressed, and have extreme anxiety which I do know can cause weird things. My body would start trembling inside at night and build until my entire body shook...all stress. My psychiatrist told me that I had so much stress and this was my body's way of coping with it. Just dealing with your symptoms will stress you even more, and depress you. Seek the help of a psychiatrist and tackle it one step at a time. Don't worry about using medical terms, you're doctor doesn't need you to do this, and if he/she doesn't understand what you are trying to describe, they will help you to explain yourself.
Hi there,
What you describe is unrelated to depression. You are talking about an eye problem and need to resolve that with a specialist.
You mention smoking dope. You don't say how long you smoked it or what ages you were when you smoked it. If you were under 24 and smoked it long term then you may have damaged your brain and even psychosis is possible. That damage can occur in anyone up to about age 24 when smoking dope as the brain is still developing until about that age. Again, a doctor should help you resolve this.
You mention brain fog. There's no sauch medical term I'm afraid and is a term used by people who can't define the various components of what ails them. You should try to do that as "brain fog" is a useless term. Examples of what may be involved are motivation problems, concentration problems, memory problems and so on. Try to define each part and it will become clearer and be easier to describe to a doc.
