Hi there. I'm so sorry you are having this hard time. Depression is tough. If I am reading between the lines, did you have an addiction you are recovering from? Depression and addiction often go hand in hand. Addiction can start due to underlying depression and people trying to compensate or do something to feel better and they turn to drink or drugs. And the drink or drugs can then further their depression. So, if you are in recovery, please check out the Addiction: Substance Abuse forum which is excellent. Lots of great people to talk to there. So, you do not have insurance. Do you make too much money for public assistance? Medicare? Apply and see if you can get it. It never hurts. Otherwise, there are options such as trying to pay out of pocket for reduced or sliding fee office visit charges or going to a clinic.
Exercise is a great stress reducer and does help with depression as does things like meditation, deep breathing or yoga and volunteering.
You say you got depressed after quitting pills, but don't say which kind of pills.
