Medicine Transfer

Would switching from Adderal 30 mg to Vyvanse 20 mg cause me to gain weight? (or any other negative side effect?)

Sorry charlotte885 but, despite you effort to correct your spelling, what you meant was Dexedrine, no offense ;). You might be confusing Dexedrine with Dexatrim and Dexatrim is a dietary supplement to decrease appetite with no stimulating effects like the stimulants we're talking about.

You are right about the drugs being in the same family, they are all psychostimulants mainly composed of amphetamine and/or dextroamphetamine, levoamphetamine, and other stuff like that...

SugieSprinks, the medication change won't affect your weight simply because amphetamine kind of drugs decrease appetite regardless of the brand.I think the reason your doctor switched you to Vyvanse is because of the reduced side effects and drug lasting longer.

Take care,
M4
